Matous Holý is a Czech artist who created the ORGANIC line. His art has taken several ideas from surrealism, then developing a personal expressive language characterized by symbolism. The management of materials, both modern and traditional, is undoubtedly the distinctive feature of his works, which face complicated and challenging processes.
Matous Holý graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. What has accompanied him for a long time in his works is the use of earth, a living material that he has never stopped using. Holý’s sculptures document his artistic ability, while the photographs testify to his inventiveness, enthusiasm and skill. Some of his main works are the facade of Villa Škoda and the portico of the Prague Embassy. Among his works, he took care of the lighting for important European hotel and restaurant chains, and was the screenwriter of several science fiction, fantasy and thriller films, both Czech and foreign. Although Matous Holý loves to work for himself and a small circle of enthusiastic collectors, his works managed to reach the general public thanks to the Munich 2004 and Ceský Brod 2008 fairs, earning him loyal fans all over the world.
